Money can't bring you happiness. But it sure as hell can help.

Chris McCosky of the Detroit News takes us back to July and August, when Chris Webber was seemingly the hot ticket free agent.

Webber says he only truly considered two teams: San Antonio and Indiana. He goes on to say that the Rockets never materialized because "Steve Francis told me they thought I was cocky, and I'm going to try to kill them every year for that."

Webber was also miffed that the Orlando Magic didn't fall over themselves to chase him. He stopped short of blaming Grant Hill for the lack of attention.

But when all was said and done, Webber tucked his tail between his legs and will try to comfort himself with $123 million in Sacramento. "I just felt that I could have more of a chance to win other places. I felt like that since I was back where I wanted to be as a player, I should go back to where I wanted to be -- a major city."

Elsewhere, McCoskey reports that the agent of Mateen Cleaves is trying to pressure the Kings into playing his client of move him. "Why would you keep him?", Charles Tucker said. "You gave up a first-rounder, you gave up Jon Barry. What's the point?"

Also, McCoskey reports that Nick Anderson might retire before the season starts, offers an interesting insight into Jazz rookie Andrei Kirilenko's jersey number, ponders what the Pacers should do with Al Harrington and much more.
